Selection Process for Chandigarh TGT Recruitment 2024:

The selection process for the TGT post consists of a written examination and a document verification. The candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for the document verification and the final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination. In this article, we will provide you with the detailed syllabus and exam pattern for the Chandigarh TGT examination 2024 and help you prepare effectively for the exam.

Chandigarh TGT Exam Pattern 2024:

The Chandigarh TGT written examination will be conducted in offline mode (OMR-based) and will have two parts, Part A and Part B. Part A will cover 50 questions and Part B will cover 100 questions. The total marks for the written examination are 150 and the duration of the exam is 150 minutes. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers. The exam pattern for the Chandigarh TGT examination 2024 is given below:

Chandigarh TGT Syllabus 2024:

The Chandigarh TGT syllabus 2024 covers a comprehensive range of topics essential for aspiring teachers. The syllabus for each subject is given below:

Part A

  • General Awareness: This section will test the candidate’s knowledge of current affairs, national and international events, books and authors, sports, discoveries, awards and honors, history, geography, polity, economy, culture, and facts of Chandigarh.
  • Reasoning: This section will test the candidate’s logical and analytical skills, such as verbal and non-verbal reasoning, coding and decoding, blood relations, directions, syllogism, puzzles, seating arrangements, etc.
  • Arithmetical and Numerical Ability: This section will test the candidate’s numerical ability, such as number system, simplification, average, percentage, ratio and proportion, time and work, time and distance, profit and loss, simple and compound interest, etc.
  • Information and Communication Technology: This section will test the candidate’s basic knowledge of computers, such as hardware, software, operating systems, internet and email, MS Office applications, computer networks, and cyber security.
  • Teaching Aptitude and Pedagogy: This section will test the candidate’s understanding of the principles and methods of teaching, learning process, educational psychology, curriculum development, evaluation techniques, etc.
  • Test of English, Hindi, Punjabi Languages and Comprehension: This section will test the candidate’s proficiency in English, Hindi, and Punjabi languages, such as grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, synonyms and antonyms, idioms and phrases, comprehension, etc.




Part B

  • Subject Specific (relating to post): This section will test the candidate’s knowledge of the subject for which they have applied, such as Mathematics, Science, Social Science, English, Hindi, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Urdu, etc. The syllabus for each subject will be based on the NCERT textbooks and curriculum for classes VI to X.
