Selection Process:

The selection process for the Analyst Grade-II post consists of a written examination and a document verification. The candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for the document verification and the final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the written examination. A.P.P.S.C. Analyst Grade-II Exam Pattern 2024:

The A.P.P.S.C. Analyst Grade-II exam pattern 2024 is given below:

  • The exam will be conducted in offline mode (OMR-based).
  • The exam will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions both in Paper I and Paper II.
  • The total marks for the exam are 450.
  • The duration of the exam is 150 minutes both for Paper I and Paper II.
  • For each wrong answer will be penalized with 1/3rd of the marks prescribed for the question.
  • The exam will cover two Papers: Paper I – General Studies and Mental Ability, and Paper II- Concerned Subject (Environmental Science/Chemistry/Bio-Chemistry/Biology).
  • The candidates can choose either Environmental Science or Chemistry or Bio-Chemistry or Biology as their subject paper based on their qualifications.
  • The qualifying marks for the exam are 40% for OC, 35% for BC, and 30% for SC/ST/PH candidates.

General Studies and Mental Ability

This section will test the candidate’s knowledge of current affairs, national and international events, books and authors, sports, discoveries, awards and honors, history, geography, polity, economy, culture, and facts of Andhra Pradesh. The topics covered in this section are:

  • Events of national and international importance
  • Current affairs – regional, national, and international
  • General Science and its applications to the day to day life
  • Contemporary developments in Science and Technology and Information Technology
  • Social-economic and political history of modern India with emphasis on Andhra Pradesh
  • Indian polity and governance: constitutional issues, public policy, reforms and e-governance initiatives with specific reference to Andhra Pradesh
  • Economic development in India since independence with emphasis on Andhra Pradesh
  • Physical geography of Indian sub-continent and Andhra Pradesh
  • Disaster management: vulnerability profile, prevention and mitigation strategies, application of remote sensing and GIS in the assessment of disaster
  • Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection
  • Logical reasoning, analytical ability, and data interpretation
  • Data Analysis: Tabulation of data, Visual representation of data, Basic data analysis and Interpretation
  • Bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and its Administrative, Economic, Social, Cultural, Political, and Legal implications/problems
