• Starting Date of Online Application: 23.04.2024
• Last Date of Online Application: 22.05.2024
• Application Correction Window period: From 27.05.2024 12.01 A.M to 29.05.2024 11.59 P.M
• Date and time of preliminary examination: 12.07.2024 02.30 P.M. to 5.30 P.M
• Date of main examination: Will be announced at the time of the declaration of the results of the preliminary examination.

Educational Qualification:

• Assistant Commissioner: Must possess any degree and also a degree of Bachelor of Law (3 years course) or a degree of Bachelor of Law (5 years Integrated course) of a University recognized by the University Grants Commission for its Grant.
  and
  Must be practicing as an Advocate or as a Pleader in a Court of Civil or Criminal Jurisdiction for not less than three years.
  or
  Must have put in a service of not less than six years in the post of Executive Officer, Grade I or Grade II or Grade III or Grade IV, or Inspector or Head Clerk or Manager or Superintendent in the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.
• District Educational Officer
  a) For Open Market candidates:
  1. A Master’s degree from any University recognized by the University Grants Commission in the State or a degree of equivalent standard in any one of the following subjects namely Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Economics, Geography, History, Commerce, Tamil and English
  and
  2. Should have studied Tamil under Part-I or Part-II of the Intermediate or Pre-University Course or Higher Secondary Course
  and
  3. Bachelor of Teaching or Bachelor of Education from any recognized University in the State or a degree of equivalent standard.
• b) For the Teacher candidates employed in recognized aided secondary schools and higher secondary schools:
  1. A Master’s Degree from any University recognized by the University Grants Commission in the State or a Degree of equivalent standard in any one of the following subjects namely Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Economics, Geography, History, Commerce, Tamil and English
  and
  2. Should have studied Tamil under Part-I or Part-II of the Intermediate or Pre University Course or Higher Secondary Course
  and
  3. Teaching experience for not less than twelve years in a recognized school after acquiring the degree of Bachelor of Teaching or equivalent qualification.

Age Limit (as of 01-07-2024):

• For Assistant Commissioner: Max. 34 years
• District Educational Officer
  (i) For Open Market Candidates: Max. 32 years
  ii). For the Teacher candidates employed in recognized aided secondary schools and higher secondary schools: Max. 42 years (Check official notification below for age relaxation).

Selection Process:

• Selection is based on Stage 1: Preliminary Examination and Stage II: Main Exam (Written Examination & Interview).

Application Fee:

• Candidates have to pay Rs. 150/- as a one-time registration and also
• Candidates have to pay Rs. 100/- as an examination fee through online.
• SC/ ST/ Destitute Window/ Persons with Benchmark Disability are fully exempt from the application fee.
