1. The 15th edition of Pravasi Bhartiya Divas begins at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. The 3-day event is being organized in Varanasi for the first time. The theme this year is, ‘Role of Indian Diaspora in building New India’. Several world leaders of Indian origin, including the Chief Guest Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Prime Minister of Mauritius, will take part in the event and share their insights on the theme.

2. India and Japan-India Cooperative Actions (JICA) signed the loan agreements under the Japanese Official Development Assistance Loan Program in New Delhi. The agreements under the Japanese Official Development Assistance Loan were signed for two projects. These are:
(a) Project for the Construction of Chennai Peripheral Ring Road (Phase 1) for Japanese Yen 40.074 billion (around Rs 2470 Crore), and
(b) Program for Japan-India Cooperative Actions towards Sustainable Development Goals in India for Japanese Yen 15.000 billion (around Rs 950 Crore). 

3. The 2-day Agri Vision 2019 Conference on envisioning Agro solutions for Smart and Sustainable Agriculture was held in Hyderabad. It was inaugurated by Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu.

4. Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H) has announced the launch of a full-fledged bachelor’s programme in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology from the new academic session, a first for the country and only the third globally.

 5. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated the 426 meters long Diffo Bridge over Chipu River in Lower Dibang Valley District of Arunachal Pradesh. Border Roads Organization (BRO) has constructed the bridge along Indo-China border.

6. The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has named the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro as the World Capital of Architecture for 2020. Rio will be the first city to receive the title under a programme launched together by UNESCO and the International Union of Architects (UIA) in November 2018. The city beat Paris and Melbourne to get the position.

1. உத்தரபிரதேச மாநிலம் வாரணாசியில் பிரசாசி பாரதி திவாஸ் 15 வது பதிப்பு தொடங்குகிறது. முதல் நாள் வாரணாசியில் 3 நாள் நிகழ்ச்சி ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. இந்த ஆண்டு தீம், ‘புதிய இந்தியாவை உருவாக்க இந்திய புலம்பெயர்ந்தோர் பங்கு’. இந்திய வம்சாவளியைச் சேர்ந்த பல உலகத் தலைவர்கள், பிரதான விருந்தினர் திரு.பிரீந்த் குமார் ஜுகநாத், மொரிஷியஸ் பிரதம மந்திரி உட்பட, நிகழ்வில் பங்கேற்கவுள்ளனர்.

2. இந்தியா மற்றும் ஜப்பான்-இந்தியா கூட்டுறவு செயல்கள் (JICA) ஜப்பானிய அதிகாரப்பூர்வ உதவி கடன் திட்டத்தின் கீழ் கடன் ஒப்பந்தங்களில் கையெழுத்திட்டன. ஜப்பனீஸ் உத்தியோகபூர்வ அபிவிருத்தி உதவி கடன் கீழ் ஒப்பந்தங்கள் இரண்டு திட்டங்கள் கையெழுத்திடப்பட்டன. இவை:
(a). ஜப்பானிய யெனிற்காக, சென்னை பெர்ஃபெக்டல் ரிங் ரோடு (கட்டம் 1) கட்டுமான திட்டம் 40.074 பில்லியன் (சுமார் ரூ 2470 கோடி), மற்றும்
(b). ஜப்பான்-யென் இந்தியா கூட்டுறவு நடவடிக்கைகளுக்கான ஜப்பானிய யென் 15,000 பில்லியன் (950 கோடி ரூபாய்) க்காக இந்தியாவில் நிலையான வளர்ச்சி இலக்குகளை நோக்கி திட்டம்.

3. ஹைதராபாத்தில் ஸ்மார்ட் மற்றும் நிலையான விவசாயத்திற்கான ஆக்ரோ தீர்வுகள் பற்றிய 2 நாள் ‘Agri Vision 2019’ மாநாடு நடைபெற்றது. இது துணை ஜனாதிபதி எம். வெங்கையா நாயுடு தொடங்கி வைக்கப்பட்டது.

4. Indian Institute of Technology-Hyderabad (IIT-H)யில் செயற்கை நுண்ணறிவு (AI) தொழில்நுட்பத்தை அறிமுகப்படுத்தியுள்ளது. செயற்கை நுண்ணறிவு (AI) தொழில்நுட்பம், புதிய கல்வியாண்டு அமர்வு, நாட்டிற்கு முதன்முதலாக, மூன்றாவது உலகளாவில் ஆகும்.

5. அருணாச்சல பிரதேசத்தின் லோயர் திபாங் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலுள்ள சிபு ஆறு மீது 426 மீட்டர் நீளமான டிப்லோ பாலம் பாதுகாப்பு அமைச்சர் நிர்மலா சீதாராமன் திறந்து வைத்தார். இந்திய-சீன எல்லைப் பகுதியில் பாலம் சாலைகள் அமைப்பு (பி.ஆர்) பாலம் கட்டப்பட்டது.

6. ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் கல்வி, விஞ்ஞானம் மற்றும் கலாச்சார அமைப்பு (யுனெஸ்கோ) பிரேசிலிய நகரமான ரியோ டி ஜெனிரோவை 2020 ஆம் ஆண்டிற்கான கட்டிடக்கலை உலக மூலதனமாக அறிவித்துள்ளது. யுனெஸ்கோவால் தொடங்கப்பட்ட ஒரு திட்டத்தின் கீழ் தலைப்பைப் பெறுவதற்கான முதல் நகரம் ரியோவாகும். 2018 நவம்பரில் சர்வதேச அமைப்பின் சர்வதேச சங்கம் (UIA). அந்தப் பதவியைப் பெற இந்த நகரம் பாரிஸ் மற்றும் மெல்போர்னை தோற்கடித்தது.
