i). India and Germany have joined hands for cooperation on Water and Waste Management. During the meeting of 3rd Indo-German Working Group for cooperation on water and waste management which concluded in New Delhi, both sides discussed potential cooperation in this area.
ii). Mr Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for petroleum and natural gas, inaugurated the 2019 Asia LPG summit in New Delhi. The summit has been organized jointly by the major Indian oil marketing companies (OMCs) Indian Oil, Hindustan Petroleum and Bharat Petroleum together with the World LPG Association (WLPGA) at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi. This is the second edition of the Asia LPG Summit, with the first one having been held in 2017. This two-day event will focus on ‘LPG – Energy for Life.’ India is the 2nd largest consumer of liquified natural gas (LPG) in the world.
iii). Indian Coast Guard and the Airport Authority of India (AAI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding at Coast Guard Regional Headquarters in Port Blair in the presence of Inspector General Maneesh Vishal Pathak, Commander Coast Guard Region (Andaman and Nicobar Islands) for coordination in the aeronautical and maritime search and rescue operations.
iv). ‘Darwaza Band- Part 2’ campaign launched by Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen focuses on sustaining the open defecation free status of villages across the country. Earlier Darwaza Band campaign was launched in 2017. The campaign launched by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation in Mumbai in the presence of actor Amitabh Bachchan.
v). The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the following set of approvals. The important Cabinet Approvals are given as follows: The Cabinet has approved-
- MoU between India and Malaysia for Mutual Cooperation in the field of Company Secretaryship.
- MoU between India and Election Management Bodies of Namibia and Panama.
vi). The second joint secretary level meeting to review the India-Nepal Trade Treaty begun in Pokhara, Nepal. The Indian delegation is headed by Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, Joint Secretary (South Asia), Department of Commerce, while Ravi Shankar Saiju, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies is leading the Nepalese side.
vii). RBI has released the 6th Bi-Monthly Monetary Policy Statement. On the basis of an assessment of the current and evolving macroeconomic situation at its meeting, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided to:
- Reduce the policy repo rate under the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF) by 25 basis points from 6.5% to 6.25% with immediate effect.
- Consequently, the reverse repo rate under the LAF stands adjusted to 6.0%, and the marginal standing facility (MSF) rate and the Bank Rate to 6.5%.
viii). Indian opener Smriti Mandhana hammered the fastest fifty for India in Women’s T20Is. The left-handed batswoman struck a half-century in just 24 balls in the 1st T20I against New Zealand at Westpac Stadium in Wellington.

i). நீர் மற்றும் கழிவு மேலாண்மை தொடர்பாக இந்தியாவும் ஜேர்மனியும் கைகோர்த்துள்ளன. புது தில்லியில் முடிவடைந்திருந்த நீர் மற்றும் கழிவு மேலாண்மை தொடர்பாக 3 வது இந்திய-ஜேர்மன் பணிக்குழு கூட்டத்தின் போது, இரு தரப்பினரும் இந்த பகுதியில் சாத்தியமான ஒத்துழைப்பு பற்றி விவாதித்தனர்.
ii). புது தில்லியில் 2019 ஆசிய எல்பிஜி உச்சிமாநாட்டை மத்திய, பெட்ரோலிய மற்றும் இயற்கை எரிவாயு துறை அமைச்சர் திரு. தர்மந்திர பிரதான் திறந்து வைத்தார். புதுடில்லியில் உள்ள தாஜ் பேலஸ் ஹோட்டலில், உலக ஆயுர்வேத அசோசியேஷன் (WLPGA) உடன் இணைந்து இந்திய எண்ணெய், இந்துஸ்தான் பெட்ரோலியம் மற்றும் பாரத் பெட்ரோலியம் ஆகிய பெரிய இந்திய எண்ணெய் சந்தை நிறுவனங்கள் (OMCs) இணைந்து இந்த உச்சிமாநாடு ஒருங்கிணைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஆசிய எல்பிஜி உச்சிமாநாட்டின் இரண்டாவது பதிப்பாக இது அமைந்துள்ளது. 2017 ஆம் ஆண்டில் முதன்முதலில் நடைபெற்றது. இந்த இரண்டு நாள் நிகழ்வு ‘எல்பிஜி எரிசக்தி வாழ்க்கைக்கு’ கவனம் செலுத்துகிறது. இந்தியா, இந்தியாவின் மிகப்பெரிய இயற்கை எரிவாயு (எல்பிஜி) இந்த உலகத்தில் இதுவாகும்.
iii). இந்திய கடலோர காவல்படை மற்றும் இந்திய விமான நிலைய அதிகாரசபை (AAI) விமானப்படை ஒருங்கிணைப்புக்காக இன்ஸ்பெக்டர் ஜெனரல் மானேஷ் விஷால் பதக், தளபதி கடலோர பகுதி (அந்தமான் மற்றும் நிக்கோபார் தீவுகள்) முன்னிலையில் போர்ட் பிளேயரில் உள்ள கடலோர பிராந்திய தலைமை அலுவலகத்தில் புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டது. மற்றும் கடல்சார் தேடல் மற்றும் மீட்பு நடவடிக்கைகள் இதுவாகும்.
iv). சுவாஷ் பாரத் மிஷன் கிராமேன் துவக்கிய ‘தர்வாஸா பேண்ட்-பாகம் 2’ பிரச்சாரம் நாட்டிலுள்ள கிராமங்களில் திறந்த வெளிச்செல்லும் இலவச நிலையை நிலைநிறுத்துவதை வலியுறுத்துகிறது. முன்னதாக தர்வாஸா பந்தின் பிரச்சாரம் 2017 ஆம் ஆண்டில் தொடங்கப்பட்டது. மும்பை குடிநீர் மற்றும் சுகாதார அமைச்சகத்தால் நடத்தப்பட்ட பிரச்சாரம் நடிகர் அமிதாபச்சின் முன்னிலை வகித்தார்.
v). பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி தலைமையிலான மத்திய அமைச்சரவை பின்வரும் ஒப்புதல்கள் வழங்கியுள்ளது. அமைச்சரவை அங்கீகாரம்-
1. கம்பெனி செயலாளர் துறையில் பரஸ்பர ஒத்துழைப்புக்காக இந்தியா மற்றும் மலேசியா இடையேயான ஒப்பந்தம்.
2. நமீபியா மற்றும் பனாமாவின் இந்தியா மற்றும் தேர்தல் நிர்வாக அமைப்புகளுக்கு இடையேயான ஒப்பந்தம்.
vi). நேபாளத்தில் போக்ராவில் தொடங்கப்பட்ட இந்தியா-நேபாள வர்த்தக ஒப்பந்தத்தை மீளாய்வு செய்யும் இரண்டாவது கூட்டு செயலாளர் நிலைக் கூட்டம். இந்தியாவின் பிரதிநிதிகள் குழுவில் பூபீந்தர் சிங் பல்லா தலைமையிலான, கூட்டுச் செயலாளர் (தெற்காசியா), வர்த்தகத் துறை, மற்றும் நேஷனல் இன்ஜினியரிங், வர்த்தகத்துறை மற்றும் சம்மேளன இணை அமைச்சின் செயலாளர் ரவி ஷங்கர் சைகோ ஆகியோர் தலைமையில் உள்ளனர்.

2. இதன் விளைவாக, LAF இன் தலைகீழ் ரெப்போ விகிதம் 6.0% ஆகவும், நடுத்தர நிலை வசதி (MSF) விகிதம் மற்றும் வங்கி விகிதம் 6.5% ஆகவும் சரிசெய்யப்படுகிறது.
